I often bang on to my couples about how important it is to look after your guests at a wedding, and Kate and Rich absolutely nailed it. When they first met up with me, they said they wanted their wedding to basically be a nice relaxed day down the pub with their mates.
So, after getting ready together, fuelled by a few too many coffees, Kate, her bridesmaids and her lovely Scottish family trooped off to the church and found themslves ten minutes early. What were they supposed to do?! Clearly there's only one answer - SHOTS.
Their beautiful ceremony was followed by a few drinks in the church courtyard, then a quick tuk-tuk ride to the amazing Lamb pub in Leadenhall Market. It actually used to be my local back when I worked round there!
After plenty of beers, chatting, and more tequila, the afternoon at the pub was rounded off with a proper pub meal, and dancing outside in the market. Here I was introduced to the game of pegging - basically, attach a clothes peg to people without them noticing. Things got pretty competitive (I could't resist) and the bass player from the band might have got involved too.
Having your reception at a pub is a great way to keep things casual and relaxed, where your friends and family have fun. Nothing forced or contrived, just you and your mates celebrating!

I enjoy good coffee, cycling, and derive most of my life philosophy from the Armando Iannucci Shows. I married my wife Alice in 2015, and can highly recommend this whole marriage lark!
I'm an alternative to the clichéd, posed, wedding photography that you get bombarded with at wedding fairs. Unlimited coverage, informal photography, celebrating what's unique about you. I'm all about the informal candid shots of people having the best day of their lives: lots of genuine laughs, maybe some tears, and definitely some partying!
If this sounds like your cup of tea or if you have any questions at all, get in touch and let's meet for a beer and a chat!
