Relaxed beach engagement shoot in Portobello, Edinburgh

Edinburgh sometimes doesn't feel like a seaside city, but Portobello has some pretty stunning beaches on offer. Combined with the famous evening light we get in Scotland, it makes for an amazing setting for a photoshoot!

I recently needed to test out some new camera kit, and James and Deena very kindly offered to be guinea pigs while I fumbled around working out how to use my new cameras. After a brief stop in the flat to meet the cats, we wondered around Figgate Park, playing pooh sticks in Figgate Burn and climbing into a very inviting tree. By the time we hit the beach, the sun was low in the sky, gifting us a warm glow against a moody backdrop that I haven't seen outside of Scotland. Success!
